WHAT IS COVID-19 - FACTS
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular (heart) disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease (such as Asthma), and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The COVID-19 virus spreads through droplets of saliva, spit or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes or talks.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads.
HOW TO PREVENT COVID-19
STOP THE SPREAD
1. If you have any cold or flu symptoms - stay home.
Stay home to recover. try to keep household contacts and your 'bubble' as small as possible.
stay isolated at home until you receive a negative test or you have no symptoms for 48hours.

***If you have come into close contact with an infected person, but have no symptoms also stay home until a negative test is received.
keep your household 'bubble' to as small as possible
2. WEAR A MASK - COUGH AND SNEEZE INTO ELBOW
All employees must wear a mask or face covering at all times.
Masks have been proven as the number 1 prevention method to stop the spread of covid-19
3. WASH HANDS AND KEEP SURFACES CLEAN
Infected spit droplets land on surfaces and hands. Wiping surfaces, and washing our hands properly and consistently bursts the protective bubble of the live virus.

using soap and water, wash your hands for minimum of 20 seconds
If running water is non-accessible, see below for alternatives
4. keep hands off face, sneeze into elbow, no spitting buai
Covid-19 is spread through tiny spit particles. (sneezing, spitting, talking, coughing)

Avoid transferring these particles from your hands into your nose, eyes or mouth.

Spit buai into bottles with a lid and dispose of in a rubbish bin, wash hands immediately. Do not share beetlenut, lime or mustard
5. keep calm, stay informed
If you have contracted Covid-19 and are healthy, there is a big chance you will recover fully. Keep away from any elderly, or at-risk family and friends until you are symptom free for 48hours.

Basic symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, tiredness, and dry cough which may be mild and most people can easily recover from it without special medical treatment.
However, around 1 out of every 6 people may need medical attention and should call the hotline on 7196 0813 or 1800 200 if symptoms worsens (fever, cough and difficulty breathing).

Keep a healthy diet, drink lots of fluids

Stick to facts, keep calm and look after each other.
